System requirements for Galleons V1.0.
======================================
Galleons will (should) work on any Amiga computer with at least 1mb. This
means that Galleons will run on the 500.
Installing.
===========
To install Galleons onto your hard-dive all you have to do is drag the
Galleons game draw from inside the Galleons disk to the area on your H.D.
that you want it to be stored. Then to run just open that draw and click
twice on the wee game icon. Very simple. This document needs some sort of text
reader (Assign one to use information while clicked on icon! - in WB or copy
ReadMisc from the disk to your C directory).

ReadMisc could be changed for other text readers if you want. (Because
ReadMisc is a bit crap! - result of a half hours (30 mins) work. Also a tad
on the big size (near 24+ k) - I was just lazy).

The galleons game.
------------------
Galleons is a two player game in the same vain as Tanx and Bip. The sole aim
of this game is to blow the other player out of the water. This is done
through skilful use of your galleon. The winner is the boat that is still
a float in the water.
The controls.
-------------
All of galleons is controllable via the joystick (in any port - not mouse port).
To get through the titles and battle stats screen just tap fire. To quit
the program you must tap the escape key when you are at the menu screen.
Features in galleons.

o Destroy the land with your balls (cannon balls that is).

Running Galleons.
-----------------
To run Galleons load workbench.
Upon booting Galleons you will be presented with a few misc screens. Just
tap fire on these to continue. After clicking pass the screens you will be
presented with a menu.
The menu screen.
----------------
To use the menu, use joystick 1 (not mouse port joystick). Tapping up or
down will move the bar. Tapping fire will select the option. Tapping escape
on the menu will quit the program and return you to workbench/shell. What
each option will do is as follows ...
Cannon ball wrap
If this option is On then the cannon balls when shot off the screen will
wrap around and fly on the other side of the screen.If this option is Off
then the cannon balls will stick to the edge of the game screen.
Boat wrap
If this option is On then the boat when moved off the screen will be placed on
the other side of the screen (as long as there is no land there!). If this
option is Off then the boats will be stopped at the border of the screen.
Number Of Hits
Use the +/- gadget things to alter how many shots it should take to sink a
galleon. The more there are the more hits you have to get to sink the other
ship.
The game controls.
------------------
In game you can use the "P" key to pause the game and the "Escape" key to
quit it. To control your galleon the joystick is used as follows. Please
note that every time you start a new battle the landscape should change.
Game Joystick control.
----------------------
When No fire is held.
Left or right : Rotate ship left or right.
Up : Accelerate your ship.
Down : De-accelerate your ship.
When fire is held down.
Left or right : Shoot a cannon ball left or right.
Up : Increase range.
Down : Decrease range.
Bumping into land and the other player will not damage you, but being hit
buy the other players balls will. Your boat can only travel on water. Land
can be converted into water by (controled?) explosions. The cannon balls
do wrap around the screen - so be on the look out.
To win.
-------
The game is over when one of the two players has no power left. To win
you must hit the other player five time with your on board weapons. You
must move your ship so that you can shoot the other player via use of the
left or right cannons on your ship. On getting hit or hitting the other
player you will hear a cry as some poor member of the crew is killed!.
The game will end upon the last hit.
Battle stats screen.
--------------------
At the end of a game you will be presented with a battle stats results
screen. This present you with information about the battle that has just
finished. It will give you the total number of cannon balls shot and a
hit %. The winners stats will be displayed on the left and the losers on
the right of the screen. To return to the menu screen just tap fire or press
escape (what ever one tickles your fancy! ).
Notes about Galleons v1.0.
--------------------------
This game is best played from a harddisk. So just go out and buy yourselves
a harddisk. If you notice that the mouse pointer is missing when you quit
back WB then move you mouse to the top of the screen and try and drag
the screen down a bit. - This is not a bug - it's a feature ;-)
This game was created in only two and half weeks .... ?What? ...
But has taken yonks to released, because I was on holiday.
Future stuff.
=============
I am working on a game called "Light speed". It's turning out to be the best
version of tron type light cycle game ever!. Just keep your eyes open, it will
be awesome. This game might be licenceware or something by the way - so save
your pounds.
Instead of updating Last Lap, we will produce Last Lap 2. Already in the
re-design.
